Is 'See-Now-Buy-Now' Fashion Taking Over?

Monday, September 12, 2016

...
Wait, another designer showcasing fall wear in September?! Yep. Totally finding this all so confusing. Rebecca Minkoff was one of the designers who opted for the 'See-Now-Buy-Now' craze as she showcased a 27-look 'Ready-to-Wear Fall 2016' collection in New York on Saturday, joining the likes of Yeezy and Tommy Hilfiger.

A few days prior to her fall show, Minkoff did however present a SS17 collection which was only 7 looks in comparison to the fall catwalk show which took centre stage. Although some of these fall looks were showcased back in February earlier this year, Minkoff presented another 20 never seen before looks in her show.

The designer shut down the whole of Greene Street in Soho, taking her fall looks to the streets with an aesthetic of "gypset" lifestyle and easy travel. The collection was dominated by boho dresses, floral prints, leather, fur, chokers and even sequins. We loved how she layered strappy dresses with printed tank tops and chiffon blouses, and her playful badged filled leather jackets.

Completely embodying the 'See-Now-Buy-Now', Minkoff invited top social influencers and bloggers to be part of the experience including Arielle Nachmani from Something Navy, Shea Marie of Peace Love Shea and Caroline Vreeland. Walking in the show, the bloggers were able to further promote the brand to their large social media fan base - perfect for a fast fashion obsessed world.

Will all designers eventually jump on the 'See-Now-Buy-Now' band wagon? We'd love to hear your thoughts...
