On Sunday 17th September, we went down to Fashion Scout to see CIMONE's SS17 collection for London Fashion Week. Amongst the busy few days of strutting around in uncomfortable heels, planning and the mere chaos which surrounds London Fashion Week - the CIMONE show was one we were really looking forward to, and most certainly an up and coming fashion brand to watch.
Carli Pearson, the founder and Creative Director spent her first seven years at Stella McCartney, later moving on to become Design Director at Alexander Wang, Head of Show Collection at Pucci, and Head of Womenswear at McQ, Alexander McQueen. Debuting the first CIMONE collection back in February - we couldn't wait to see what was in store for SS17.
The collection was clean and polished, but relaxed. Each look hung loosely off the models figures, far from figure hugging but surprisingly still flattering. The show started with a range of stark white looks which we loved, and then colour began to emerge including corals, blues and silver. As the show went on CIMONE's looks got more and more voluminous and flamboyant.
The looks that really stood out for us was the silver metallic suit which was absolutely dazzling, the floor length white maxi dress which had a layered texture and finally the bell sleeved sheer track style jacket that was paired with hot pink a-line high waisted trousers.
Statement pieces featured interactive embellishment - moving with the body and reacting to the wearer in unique ways, never appearing the same way twice.
There was a real effortless feel to the collection, which was achieved through CIMONE's sporty aesthetic. Overall we absolutely adored Carli Pearson's designs and can't wait to see what she has in store for next season.
