What went down at NYFW?

Friday, September 16, 2016

...
Christian Siriano represented us ALL:

Can we shout YAAAS from the rooftops? Christian Siriano shattered industry standards by sending curvaceous women down the runway which made us hella happy. The models looked fire and rocked the dresses so well. In response to if he thinks the industry will follow suit, Christian Siriano told Cosmopolitan "I think they can, I just think it's a lot of time and a lot of work ... We're all in the world together, you know? And the models in the show who are 'plus size,' they're not in a special place, they're not wearing differently styled outfits. They're just beautiful girls who are in the show, like normal. Everything's normal. That's how it should be!" Lets just hope this is enough to shake things up a little in the fashion industry.

Alexander Wang sold clothes in bin liners:

Although we weren't that excited by Wang's SS17 collection, the designer blew us away with his 'I don't care about rules' approach to fashion week. At the end of his SS17 fashion show, the designer revealed that he was collaborating with Adidas as he gave us a preview of some of the collection. The first 9 of the 84-piece collection were then sold at the back of vans. Black shorts, three varieties of sweatshirt, three t-shirt styles, black tracksuit bottoms and one style of trainers were sold to customers in bin liners. Yes... BIN LINERS. The key motif of the collection is an upside down Adidas logo, which of course the Wang lovers went crazy for, so crazy for that apparently customers were queuing up from 3AM to buy these items. Word on the street is that these vans will be stopping in London and Tokyo on September 17.

Kylie Jenner dyed her hair platinum blonde:

And no it wasn't a wig this time. We were totally in LOVE with the look. She also slayed with her outfit choices throughout NYFW, such as this dress and denim combo by designer Yousef Al Jasmi.

Young Thug shut it downnn (literally):
Young Thug
I'm sure you all saw Young Thug's album cover right? Rocking that baby blue floor-length dress by up and coming fashion designer Alessandro Trincone. The rapper has modelled for Puma, Calvin Klein and for Yeezy, so it's no surprise he's a mentor for fashion collective VFiles. Whilst watching the VFiles catwalk show, Young Thug got out of his seat on the front row to stop the show. He actually fixed a models clothes mid runway. One word... CRAY.
