4 Key Trends From Fashion Week

...
With hundreds of designers exhibiting their latest collections for NY, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Week  it's hard not to be overwhelmed. From On Schedule, to Off Schedule, to jackets, accessories and even more clothes –  for the majority, its more than difficult to take away the key trends for the SS19 season. With Fashion Month being officially over today, as Paris shows come to a close – we've looked at collections from NY, London, Milan and Paris to tell you what trends to prepare for the spring next year.

High necklines

Valentino
Forget plunging necklines, tops that cover your chest are very much in. From crew-necks, to scoop-necks  there's less emphasis on the sexy plunge of SS18. Designers such as Balmain and Valentino displayed a number of looks that embodied this trend, presenting blouses, blazers, dresses and form fitting tops.

Statement shoulders & sleeves

Balmain
From Givenchy to Balmain, and even Moschino  SS19 seems as though its all about the shoulders. Shoulder pads, intricate detailing and voluptuous sleeves means less is definitely not more for next Spring/Summer.

It's all in the details

For SS19, heels are loud and detailed. Collections shown across the fashion month consisted of bold feather detailing by Prabal Gurang, heels that stand at a slant by the likes of Fendi & Prada, and ruffle detailing by Max Mara. Alexa Chung, Armani and Mary Katrantzou made a bold perspex statement on presentation of their looks, suggesting that the barely there trend is very much still here to stay for the coming year.

Denim reimagined
Stella McCartney
Long gone are the days of denim simply being used for jeans and jackets. Olivier Rousteing completely showed out with his take on denim, presenting a floor length button up skirt tied firmly around the waist with denim sleeves, as well as paper bag style oversized shorts. Stella McCartney also took a unique approach on denim, presenting looks such as a relaxed fit tie dye denim jumpsuit which we couldn't resist here at The Beauty Run. Lets just say SS19 is an exciting time for denim.
