Style Spy: The Perspex Takeover

Ever since seeing Jonathan Anderson send his models down the catwalk sporting clear garments for his Loewe SS16 show, I was literally hoping and praying this trend would really take off. I wasn't too sure about the clear trousers (pictured below) but I was totally feeling the shoes and accessories. Kanye then designed a pair of perspex boots for yeezy season 3 in black and clear, which was like a crazy fusion of Dior's infamous AW15 latex ankle boots and Loewe's take on perspex.

Of course, Kim K started rocking her bae's designs and before you know it a trend was born. Public Desire, Ego Official and Simmi Shoes (to name a few) have now launched ranges of perspex heels (wahey) from around £30-£40. As soon as I saw Public Desire's Briella Perspex Ankle Boots pop up on my Instagram feed a few weeks ago, I just had to order a pair. Worn correctly, perspex can really flatter your toes and of course they can be paired with anything and everything. However, approach this trend with caution. I wouldn't advise anyone to wear these on a hot summers day as your flustered feet will literally be exposed for the world to see. So definitely be careful ladies.
