How To Repair Sun Damaged Hair

Monday, August 28, 2017

...
As much as the summer season is ultimately my favourite time of the year, if there's one draw back I wish I could change, it would have to be the long lasting, Sahara drying impact left on my hair after a week in the sun.

As a self confessed beauty junkie, no matter how many leave-in conditioners or sun protection sprays I drench my hair with - not very many products actually help. Repairing sun damaged strands can often take patience, perseverance and the right amount of hair perfecting products.

Here are the hair restoring saviours I depend on:

OGX Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner - £6.99 each

OGX
Washing your hair with a sulphate free shampoo will definitely help to combat over dry, frizzy, heat damaged hair, whilst also minimising the risk of over stripping the hair from essential oils. I like OGX's Macadamia Oil Shampoo, £6.99 followed by OGX's Macadamia Oil Conditioner, £6.99 which are both perfect for perking up my hair when it needs an extra boost.

Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Treatment - £24.45

Moroccan Oil
Weekly hair masques are one of the best practises you can do to achieve super sleek hair. One of my favourite strand restoring remedies for when my hair is distressed is to apply a generous dose of the Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Treatment, £25.45. Infused with Argan Oil and Shea Butter, this is one of the best hair masks I've found for revitalising and restoring sun stressed hair in a matter of minutes.

Aquis Towel - £30.00

Aquis
When it comes to maintaining your hair texture after a week in the sun, applying as little amount of heat as possible is the best way to go. Aquis have recently launched a range of ultra fine fibered hair turbans, which are designed to effectively cut hair dying time down by 50%, whilst also fighting the signs of split ends, cuticle breakage and frizzy hair which can be caused through drying hair with a bathroom towel. Easy to wrap up and locks in key moisture sourced from your shampoo conditioner and masque steps, this towel will help to dry hair within 20 - 30 minutes. This allows you to either go au natural or your desired heat style in half the amount of time, without the guilt of over drying your hair.

  5. A good article to know details about damaged hair care! There are a number of ways to be able to tell the difference between virgin hair and extensions that claim to be virgin hair but are obviously not.
